The Next Cutest Picture Ever!

Mommy snapped this gem a couple of days ago as I was rolling around with Giraffe. Just last night Daddy was bragging how he's taken the two cutest pictures of me ~ the bunny picture and the bathtub picture from last week. So when Mommy downloaded this from the camera tonight, she knew she had a likely candidate for cutest picture ever. Now if she can just get a video of me rolling around and playing with my other toys!

Sweet Potatoes!

So far, in my introduction to 'solid' (read: mushy) foods, I've had rice cereal, peas, applesauce and sweet potatoes. I was hesitant about almost everything the first time I had it, and I still am not sure about the applesauce. But sweet potatoes!? I took to those right away. They are fantastic and Mommy bought me some more at the store today. I'm such a lucky girl!

Next up (I can only try a new food every few days or so to make sure I don't have some weird reaction to it): green beans, carrots, squash and more sweet potatoes!!!! There's also more applesauce in the near future because Mommy doesn't think it's quite right that I'm unsure about it. Wish me luck!

Giraffe

My bedroom is decorated in a jungle theme and I have a TON of stuffed animals. Some of the animals in the jungle theme are elephants, monkeys, zebras, alligators and of course, giraffes. And back when Mommy was still pregnant with me, Grandma Ellen brought a 32" long stuffed giraffe that stretches the length of the changing table in my room.

Giraffe is, BY FAR, my most favorite toy. Every time I get a diaper change, I see him lying there, I start grinning like a fool, then I grab him and start to play. First I try to hide behind him (which is hard because he's long and thin which I am not!), then I wrap him all around me and I cuddle with him.

Since I've been sick, I like to have him near me to hold onto for comfort. If I happen to drift off (last picture in this post) I like to have Giraffe laying on my head. This is kind of unnerving for Mommy so she always moves him after I'm asleep.

Mommy has decided that I need a backup Giraffe because she's heard stories of what some parents go through to replace their babies favorite toys that have either been damaged or lost. Of course, Giraffe 2 wouldn't be used except in case of an emergency, but can you imagine how much fun I would have with both Giraffes!? Not to mention the others that Mommy found - elephants, zebras, lions, monkeys ~ a whole jungle!

Bathtime Fun!

Here I am getting a vapor bath to try and help with my cold. I might be sick, but I sure am happy anyway!

Happy & Ticklish Baby

Here's a short video of Daddy making me laugh by tickling me under my arms. I love it when Mommy and Daddy nibble under my arms and on my belly. I usually reward them with big laughs.

Six Months Old!

I know I'm a week late in announcing that I'm half a year old already... but I wanted to wait until after my checkup to report my stats! I'm 18.4 pounds and 26 inches long and I got an excellent report with my doctor who told Mommy and Daddy to keep up the good work! I do, however, have a small cold which has been bothering me a bit more lately and might get worse before I get all better. Mommy stayed home with me today to pamper me and snuggle a lot.

I really like being six months old! So many things have happened lately! In addition to my first cold, I'M GETTING MY FIRST TOOTH! And if you ask me, I'm handling it all like a champ. Occasionally I'll lose my personality for a bit or get a little irritable during bedtime, but for the most part, I just chew on stuff (Mommy's fingers are the best) and drool as bad as Bear.

Speaking of Bear, he and I are becoming pretty good pals. It's taken him a bit to accept me as here-to-stay, but he was like that with Milhouse too. I just recently figured out that the boys are actually things to interact with, not just to stare at. I started imitating Milhouse by panting every once in awhile. Then I started reaching out and 'petting' them. I'm totally fascinated with them! When Bear gives me kisses I laugh and laugh! Milhouse has never been much of a kisser but I know he's tempted.

One of the other cool things I've started doing is using is my Jumperoo! I LOVE IT! I haven't quite figured out how to jump in it yet, but it weeble-wobbles with me and every once in awhile I kind of jump. Thanks to Daddy's co-workers who got it for me!

Here are my six month pictures ~ aren't I getting big!? Mommy's working hard on a good video of me in the Jumperoo, so keep checking back!
