Superheroes

I LOVE SUPERHEROES!!! I'm a big fan of the DC Comics characters, mainly the biggies: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and the rest of the Justice League. Here's a nice little video of me letting Daddy know who's who in our house...

My Big Fat Blog Post(s) - Halloween!!!

Hey all, Rebecca here. I don't usually get to voice my opinions on the blog, Maggie kind of just dictates and I type. Every once in awhile, Marin gets a chance too. However, I couldn't pass up Halloween. First off, Maggie thinks Halloween is the BEST holiday EVER. Why? Candy, of course! This was her first real year of trick-or-treating, being able to walk and talk on her own, last year she was a bit timid. Marin liked being out and about, and chewing on the tusks of her elephant costume.

Speaking of costumes, this year started off with Marin as an elephant and Maggie as a monkey. This was a bonus for Sean and I as we had bought these costumes in previous years and the girls finally fit into them (and wanted to wear them- you might remember Maggie turning down the monkey costume last year when Marin was a banana). Anyway, they got to wear their costumes to daycare/preschool... and that's literally where the s*** hit the fan(ny). And the costume. Preschool was nice enough to put the monkey costume into the laundry, where it STAYED all weekend.

So Maggie, although happy as a monkey, got to go as SuperGirl which she loved. Giraffe even got to wear a cape. We went trick-or-treating with our dear friends, Tara, Mario & the kids, and had a great time. Maggie has been working on her bartering skills with the candy, when she says "how 'bout 4 pieces?" we start at one and eventually work our way to 2. Once she sweetly brought Sean a lollipop and, of course, produced one for herself as well. I think the funniest part is that she moves a chair over to the counter, grabs some candy, moves the chair back, and then comes to us with the candy hidden behind her back and asks to eat it. Until next Halloween!

My Big Fat Blog Post(s) - October

You didn't think I was going to let Maggie have all of the fun, did you? Marin, here! October was a busy month after settling into the new school year schedule and all of us being sick from our venture into commercialized daycare/preschool. Just building up our immune systems! Mommy & I both had ear infections and that made us pretty miserable. But, we're all better now (for awhile).

Mommy has a rule that if we eat spaghetti at the dinner table, we do so in our underwear (Maggie & Me anyway) and go straight into the tub afterwards. Daddy came up with the nickname "Marin-ara" for me after the amount of sauce I can get on myself. Then, Mommy decided to get photographic evidence that I do actually sleep sometimes. And even though she woke me up (she just said "payback") and I think the picture is incredibly unfair, it is how I look when I wake up most of the time.

The biggest news of October (besides Halloween which will be a separate post), is that I've actually started WALKING!!!! I took my first steps on Sept. 23, but it took me a few weeks to really get going. As you can see, Maggie helped me out a little. I LOVE my big sister. She is the bees knees. You can see how proud I am of myself for walking over to the sliding door, oh yeah, I've also been working on my belly. I'm a good eater!

My Big Fat Blog Post(s) - September

While September may not have very many pictures to show for it, it was a very busy month. Marin started daycare and I started PRESCHOOL!!!!! I love it so much, it's one of the best things ever! We do art, sing songs, play games, watch movies, learn lots and lots of things like counting and the alphabet. Marin and I are both in the same building and at the end of the day we join classrooms and I get to play with her for a little bit. As much as I love my Marin, it is nice to get a break from her. But it's so nice to see her at the end of the day. Mommy & Daddy too. And they get little reports on what each of us did during the day. Pretty cool.

My Big Fat Blog Post(s) - August

August brought some more fun events, mainly Marin's first birthday. She really wasn't up for the party, but we had some other good times, like checking out Oma & Opa's new condo, having fun in our new whale pool (that Mommy cleaned and stored so we don't have to buy one next year), getting ready for football season and Marin worked on her walking & climbing! Not to mention that Mommy & Daddy celebrated their 6th wedding anniversary!

My Big Fat Blog Post(s) - July

July was full of fun things like my third birthday and my first fishing trip! Daddy took Marin and I up to see Grandpa George & Grandma Ellen and I got to go out on Grandpa's fishing boat with him and Daddy. We had a great time even though we didn't catch anything. I got a little windblown and chilly, but warmed up later that night with a little fire and some s'mores. The next morning I was pretty tired, but Marin wasn't. I don't think she's ever really tired.

Another trip we took was when Mommy, Marin, Oma, Opa & I got to go to a family wedding in central Oregon. We had a lot of fun with the photographer lady and loved seeing the "princess" marry her prince. Here are some great pics from that fun trip:
